The Laboratory of Peptide & Protein Chemistry & Biology (PeptLab) is a multi-disciplinary technology platform for research, based on the contribution and partecipation of researchers with expertise in synthesis, structural studies, immunology, pharmacology of peptides, with approaches to proteomics, peptidomics and bioinformatics.

Since 2009, the PeptLab of the University of Florence (Italy) was formally joined to SOSCO (Laboratoire de Synthèse Organique Sélective et de Chimie bioOrganique) of the University of Cergy-Pontoise (France) and became the Italian-French Laboratory of Peptide & Protein Chemistry & Biology.

This was made possible thanks to the Chaire d'Excellence awarded to Prof. Anna Maria Papini with financial support from the Agence Nationale de la Recherche of the French Ministry of Education and Research (2009-2013).

The main idea of the project is the organization of a European Network to introduce a "Quality Approach" as an innovative strategy for favouring R&D activities from Academic Laboratories to SMEs, providing Good Practice Guidance in the field of peptide-based diagnostics.
